Mr. Les MacDiarmid has been a non-degree instructor for the University of Tennessee at Martin Office of Extended Campus and Continuing Education for the past two years.
Les has taught in the UT Martin Kid College program in Martin and Paris. He has provided excellent classes for children in grades K through sixth grade.
In addition to teaching children, he has also provided drawing and painting personal enrichment courses for adults.
Les is very pleasant to work with as well as a very talented individual. We appreciate Les' willingness to share his talents with the children and the adults in our community.
We look forward to continuing to work with Les.
Sincerely,
Debbie Mount

The City of Sharon Progress and Growth Committee had a contract with Les MacDiarmid to paint a mural. His knowledge of detail was greatly appreciated. We informed him of our ideas and he made it a reality.
The mural was completed in June 2005 and looks like it was done yesterday. We had a deadline for completion and he fulfilled his commitment in a timely manner.
It was a pleasure to work with Les and if we have any more art projects, he will be the one we call upon.
Sincerely,
Donna Stricklin

Recently Mr. Les MacDiarmid was commissioned by our Library to do a mural in our Meeting Room. Needless to say, Mr. MacDiarmid had several people to please - the City Councel of Greenfield, members of our Library Board of Trustees and a picky library director.
We "sort of" knew what we wanted to see on the walls but weren't sure how to present it. The artist drew sketches giving us a better idea how it would all look and made several revisions for us before and even during the work. He was very pleasant and easy to work with and made
every effort to insure that the end result would be a work of art that we are proud to have in our library. It really adds a lot of interest to our otherwise boring Meeting Room. The mural portrays Greenfield history as well as Tennessee history which was our Goal.
Another plus for us was the fact that our patrons got to see this work in progress. The children that came to the library every day really got involved watching the work evolve. How many chances do children get to see a real artist work?
Mr. MacDiarmid seemed to enjoy the children coming through and interacted with them on a daily basis.
We are proud to recommend this artist to anyone needing art work done - he really is very talented and can do any job that is put before him.
Sincerely,
Sandra Dowland

I saw the mural in the Weekley County Press that you recently painted and the Nathan Porter Library in Greenfield.
I just wanted to tell you how much I appreciated your making me a part of your Tennessee history. This is an excellent painting of history and I'm sure everyone in the Greenfield area will enjoy for a very long time.
Sincerely,
Ned McWherter
