About Les
Les' Artist Statement
I love painting. I love the challenge du jour that it gives as it leads me to new discoveries of myself. It is the skepticism and the wonder, the flesh and the spiritual within me that I must dig from within myself and splash on the canvas. I love the beautiful color of Renoir, the revealing magic of Picasso, and the absurdity of Warhol. I wish for my artwork to be a respectful expression of the mystery and the excitement of life. You may like my work, you may hate it, either is alright, but the last thing I want to do is bore you with it, if I do move on, life is too short. Education and Credentials I am both a painter and mural artist. I graduated Magna Cum Laude at the University of Tennessee-Martin with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. I am also a member of the Portrait Society of America and the NAEA (National Art Education Association, ID #73505). I will paint murals in homes, schools, churches, businesses, and public buildings. I am currently residing in Martin, Tennessee, however, I will travel anywhere in the United States to paint a mural. I have been an invited artist to teach art to kids in public schools for grades K-12. I have also taught troubled teens in special schools. For any additional information you can Contact Me. |
